Google Business Verification Guide

Verifying your church on Google helps people find and trust your location. Google requires verification to confirm that you're a real and legitimate organization. This guide outlines how to complete the verification process and what’s required.

Verification Methods

  1. Video Recording: Submit a pre-recorded video showing your business location, signage, and access to staff-only areas.
  2. Phone or Text Message: Receive a code directly on your business phone line or via SMS.
  3. Email: Get a verification link or code sent to your business email address (usually associated with your domain).
  4. Live Video Call: Join a live video call with a Google support specialist and show them your business in real-time.
  5. Mail (Postcard): Receive a postcard with a verification code at your business address and enter it into your profile.

Steps for Video Verification (Most Common)

Plan Before You Film

You’ll need to show three things in one continuous video with no cuts:

  • The surrounding area
  • Your church signage
  • That you have access to the building or office

Start Outside

Begin filming from outside your church. Show:

  • Nearby street signs
  • Neighboring buildings or landmarks
  • Anything that helps confirm your address

Prove Access and Authority

Show that you're connected to the church by doing at least one of the following:

  • Unlock the front door
  • Enter staff-only areas
