How to Share Meta Access with VisitorReach

Sharing access to Facebook and Instagram through Facebook Business Manager is essential for allowing VisitorReach to assist with managing and optimizing a church’s social media presence. The following guide outlines the steps to grant access securely and efficiently.

Steps to Share Facebook and Instagram Access

1. Open Facebook Business Manager

  • Navigate to business.facebook.com.
  • On the left-hand side, click the drop-down arrow to view available Business Managers and pages.
  • Ensure that the church’s page is listed under a Business Manager.

2. Verify Business Manager Connection

  • If the page is listed under a Business Manager, proceed with sharing access (proceed to Step 3).
  • If the page is not nested under a Business Manager:
    • Scroll down to check if it appears under the personal account.
    • If the page is not connected to a Business Manager, a new Business Portfolio may need to be created.

3. Grant Partner Access to VisitorReach

  • Select the gear icon to access Settings.
  • Under Users, click Partners and then select Add.
  • Choose Give a Partner Access to Your Assets.

4. Enter VisitorReach Business ID

  • Open the Onboarding Portal and locate the Meta Business Manager Access task.
  • Copy the VisitorReach Business ID (268289122412425) and return to Business Manager.
  • Paste the Business ID and click Next.
  • Select the Facebook Page to be shared.
  • Assign Partial Access (enable all toggles except for Full Control).
  • Click Assign Assets.
  • Completed.

If the Page is Not Connected to a Business Manager

  • Open Facebook and switch to the desired page.
  • Navigate to Settings > Audience and Visibility > Page Setup > Page Access.
  • Check the Business Portfolio Access section:
    • If a Business Portfolio is listed, confirm it appears in Business Manager.
    • If no Business Portfolio is listed, one must be created.

Creating a Business Portfolio (If Needed)

  • Open Business Manager.
  • On the left-hand side, scroll to the bottom and select Create a Business Portfolio.
  • Follow the prompts and connect the page to the new Business Portfolio.
  • Once connected, repeat the steps (in Steps 3 and 4) to add VisitorReach as a partner.

Regaining Access If Necessary

  • If access to the Business Manager is lost, contact someone within the church who may still have admin rights to share access.
  • If no internal contacts can restore access, alternative recovery options through Meta support may be required. See Meta’s Regaining Ownership of Your Page

Following these steps ensures that VisitorReach can effectively manage Facebook and Instagram accounts while maintaining security and proper permissions. If assistance is needed during this process, reach out to the VisitorReach team for support.
