VisitorTap FAQ
Should We Install a Tap Card on Every Seat in the Sanctuary?
We recommend a Tap Card on every chair of a church auditorium. This helps to avoid the potential awkwardness of a guest needing to reach across a person next to them to access. It also allows you to avoid worrying about placement if your chairs are ever re-organized.
Where Are Other Places We Can Use Tap Products Outside the Sanctuary?
Tap products can be placed in your New Guest Connect area, Kids area, Lobby Cafe, as part membership class, and as follow-up to outreach events (such as Fall Festival, Easter egg hunt, Christmas, etc).
What Are the Ordering Options for VisitorTap Cards?
There are two options currently available—both offered in black or white:
-
Round Sticker: This option adheres to most surfaces, including fabric chairs.
-
Rectangle Card: Made of thick plastic (similar to the weight of a credit card), this version does not include adhesive. You can add Velcro or another mounting solution if needed.
How Are Tap Cards Divided?
You have two options for organizing your Tap Cards:
-
Single URL for All Cards: You can assign one URL that all your Tap Cards point to, making it easy to manage everything from one place.
-
Groups of 100 with Unique URLs: You can divide your cards into groups of 100, with each group managed individually. You assign a unique URL to each group as needed. For example, if you have 500 cards and want 200 to go to one URL, you'll need to apply that link to two groups. If the remaining 300 should point somewhere else, you'll enter that link three times. Or, if it’s simpler, all 500 cards can point to the same URL.
Why is a Tap Card better than a QR Code?
You can direct people to whatever best supports their next step. This could be a single action like a guest connect card, your online giving app, or an event sign-up. Or, you can create a landing page with a menu of links, using the Taptree tool, right in the VisitorReach Dashboard! Customize your Taptree with links to as many places as you want - giving app, prayer request form, sermon notes, or upcoming events. You can easily change the menu of links anytime in your Dashboard.
What Smartphones Are Compatible with VisitorTap?
VisitorTap works with most iOS and Android smartphones made after 2018.
Where Should I Send People When They Tap?
You can direct people to whatever best supports their next step. This could be a single action like a guest connect card, your online giving app, or an event sign-up. Or, you can create a landing page with a menu of links, using the Taptree tool, right in the VisitorReach Dashboard! Customize your Taptree with links to as many places as you want - giving app, prayer request form, sermon notes, or upcoming events. You can easily change the menu of links anytime in your Dashboard.
What If I Want to Change Where the Tap Technology Takes People?
It’s easy! You can update your links anytime in the VisitorReach Dashboard even in real time during a service. Changes are instant, so you can swap out links as announcements or priorities shift. Most churches use a Taptree (a landing page with a menu of links) to keep everything in one place—like event sign-ups, online giving, and guest connect cards.
Can I Move the Tap Cards I Already Have to the VisitorReach Dashboard?
No, the VisitorReach Dashboard only works with official VisitorReach Tap Cards. Cards from other companies are locked to their original platforms and can’t be transferred. This locking is a security feature that helps prevent tampering or unauthorized access.
Can I Custom Design My VisitorTap Cards?
Yes! Churches can submit their own design for either the Round Sticker or Rectangle Card options. Custom orders require a minimum of 500 cards per design, with pricing around $4 per card (minimum order of $2,000). Once your design is approved, cards typically arrive within 6–8 weeks. To get started, contact your Client Success Rep to discuss the details.
Does It Matter What Giving Platform My Church Uses?
No! Your church can connect to any giving platform you prefer. If you ever decide to switch, just update the giving link in your Taptree and you're all set.
If I edit one Taptree will it update all Tap products?
Yes, one edit will update every single tap product that’s pointing to that Taptree.
